Jhilimil Residential Park through PPP has become a dream come true

April 27, 2023

SVC Jhilmil Residential BD Limited and Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Limited (BMTF) have collaborated for the ‘Jhilmil Residential Park Technology Transfer’, an announcement ceremony was held on 12th April 2023 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka.

The Chairman of SVC Jhilmil Residential BD Limited, Professor Dr. Sharifah Sabrina, and Brigadier General Md Arman Hossain , SGP,BGBM,Ndc,Psc , Director of BMTF, signed the Collaboration as their organization’s representative. Dr. Sharifah Sabrina welcomed everyone with a warm address, followed by an overview of the collaboration by BMTF.

Private Partner from Malaysia working with Rajuk , the Contracting Authority for the PPP Project Jhilmil Residential Park, is poised to leapfrog into implementing the Project with Technology Transfer from Malaysia to Bangladesh in most of its procurements for the Project.

Having understood the current economic conditions and the need for foreign exchange in Bangladesh, BNG Global Holding has resorted to manufacturing some of the advanced and innovative construction materials in Bangladesh, thus avoiding the economic drain as a result of heavy taxes and also containing the foreign currency in the country.

Technology transfer is one of the key components of commitment and collaboration in preparing the Development Index around diverse issues, there is no natural tendency to make global economic growth a win-win enterprise, and the consumption of knowledge is no longer non-rival. Finding smarter options to allay these fears and to accelerate efforts to ensure that everyone, everywhere, can take the advantage of technological progress and thereby reduce inequality was the thrust the Private Partner took upon them. They made smart technology transfer of manufacturing spun Piles in the premises of BMITF a concern of the Bangladesh Army. The Ministry of Housing and Public Works welcomed this progress toward the quick implementation of the Project.

Much has been spoken of about the delay to get the project off the ground. The two years of pandemic delayed the whole implementation process and the shipping of all procurements from Malaysia as was the intention of BNG Global Holding was also hampered by the global economic crisis coupled with heavy taxation making it so difficult to leapfrog into the project implementation, with their desired new construction technology, away from the mundane brick and mortar that is commonly used in building residential projects in Bangladesh

The determination of the Private Partner BNG to give the people of Bangladesh a better home has been consistent. Hence they are endeavoring to leapfrog into the production of spun piles and also the Industrialized Building system as is known in Malaysia. This technique of construction avoids all the mishaps of a traditional construction method that would have to be dismantled unlike in IBS. It also reduces manual labor, shortens it to great extent construction tenure, and offers a clean environment to work in. BNG is planning on driving the piles three months from now when the first batch of piles will be manufactured and brought to the site for driving. The piling work offers great speed in completion without worrying about weather conditions, and logistics. Homes built with this technology offer homeowners strong concrete walls resistant to earthquakes and have stood the test of time.

The Project to hand over to Rajuk 13700 apartments in 4 years would have been achieved as the Private Partner BNG Global Holding had all of the resources to spearhead the Project but the unavoidable natural calamity of the pandemic and war was totally unanticipated.

Today the Company is poised to make its Dream come true and achieve its sustainable development goal motto of Connecting Communities.

Shakib, Liton dazzle in Tigers thumping win over Ireland

April 27, 2023

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan and opener Liton Das came up with terrific performance to script Bangladesh’s 77-run win over Ireland in the second T20 International at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here today.

The victory helped Bangladesh take an unassailable 2-0 lead following their 22-run win in the first game by DLS method.

Shakib and Liton were instrumental in the victory which saw a number of records break in the dominating victory.

Opener Liton Das smashed a swashbuckling 41 ball-83 as Bangladesh compiled 202-3 in the second T20 International against Ireland, which was reduced to a 17-over game after rain halted the game twice.

Liton brought up his fifty off just 18 deliveries, which was fastest by a Bangladeshi batter, eclipsing Mohammad Ashraful’s 20 ball-fifty against West Indies in 2007 T20 World Cup. He clobbered 10 fours and three sixes overall.

Bangladesh scored runs at 11.88 per over, comfortably their best in their history and a full over game could potentially help them go past their highest total of 215 in this format.

Shakib Al Hasan who hammered an unbeaten 38 off 24, laced with three fours and two sixes, pushed the Bangladesh’s total past 200 for the consecutive second match for the first time in their history and then got into act in style with cherry as he claimed 5-22 to restrict Ireland to 125-9.

It was his second-best bowling figures in T20 International after a 5-20 against West Indies in Mirpur in 2018.

This was also the fourth time that Shakib scored more than 20 runs and taken four wickets in a T20I – most by any player. India’s Hardik Pandya comes next to Shakib in this regard as the Indian pace-bowling all-rounder scored 20-plus runs and taken four wickets in a T20I three times.

After his tremendous bowling show, Shakib now has 136 wickets in 114 matches, pushing New Zealand’s Tim Southee to second in the list with 134 wickets in 107 T20Is.

Opener Rony Talukdar, fresh from his 38 ball-67, smoked 44 off 23 with three fours and two sixes.

Put into bat first again, Liton and Rony gave Bangladesh a whirlwind start, sending the Irish bowlers at the receiving end.

Treating them with utmost disdain, they racked up 73 runs in the first power play, which was for the first five overs, instead of the six, since the match was reduced for three overs. Earlier in the first match Bangladesh put up a record 81 runs in the first six overs.

They might not break the power play record but brought up 100 runs off just 43 legal deliveries to set another record, putting a shed on the previous fastest 100 that also came against the same opponent in the last match off 53 balls.

After a comparatively quiet first over that fetched 8 runs, Liton kick-started the party with two fours off Mark Adair and then went on to berserk in a way that was beyond imagination.

He went after on every Irish bowler’s ruthlessly to quickly reach his 49 off 17 deliveries and then took a single off leg-spinner Ben White past backward square leg to complete his 10th fifty off 18 balls.

Rony Talukdar who watched Liton turning his bat into sword to cut through the Irish bowlers mercilessly then broke the shackle and struck leg-spinner Gareth Delany two sixes to make the matter worse for Irish bowlers further.

As things looked completely out of control for the visitors, Rony mishit one against Ben White to be caught at long-on and it brought an end to the 124-run partnership for the opening stand.

Liton looked like a batter to complete his ton as he continued his merciless attack. But White, who took 2-28 denied him what could have been his maiden century when he nicked one that spun away.

After Liton’s dismissal, skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy further came down heavily on the Irish bowlers to keep the runs flowing.

They added 61 off just 30 balls before Hridoy was dismissed in the penultimate delivery by Mark Adair (1-52) after contributing 24 off 13.

Ireland received a major setback when fast blower Taskin Ahmed had Paul Stirling caught by Liton in the first delivery of the innings.

Shakib then got into act, with a slower delivery that baffled Lorcan Tucker (6). He then struck twice in his second over to get the better of Ross Adiar and Gareth Delany for single digit figure.

Shakib continued to bowl and gave Bangladesh another double wicket over to complete his second five-for, dismissing George Dockrell and Harry Tector who struck three sixes for his 16 ball-22.

Curtis Campher resisted as Shakib completed his four overs quota in one spell.

But Taskin Ahmed who finished with 3-27 and Hasan Mahmud (1-6) kept them in check with Campher hitting 50 off 30.

The third and final T20 game is on Friday.

Mushfiqur, spinners put Bangladesh on top against Ireland

April 27, 2023

Bangladesh took the stranglehold of the one-off Test against Ireland, thanks to a dazzling performance from Mushfiqur Rahim and the spinners on day of the match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket

Stadium today.

Mushfiqur hammered a 126 off 166, clobbering 16 fours and one six as Bangladesh were bowled out for 369 in its first innings, taking a 155-run lead.

Bangladesh spinners then got into act, reducing Ireland to 27-4 and the
side’s nose in front. Ireland still needed 128 runs to force Bangladesh bat
for the second time in the game.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan and his fellow left-arm spinner Taijul Isalm shared
the four wickets to help the side close in on a victory.

Peter Moor was batting on 10 with Harry Tector, the half-centurion of the
first innings on 8 when the bails were drawn for day 2.

Shakib Al Hasan earlier missed out his sixth century by 13, being out after
striking a fluent 87. Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 55 and Liton Das added 43.

Ireland offspinner Andy McBrine claimed 6-118 to register his career-best
bowling. Pacer Mark Adair and legspinner Ben White grabbed two wickets
apiece.

Ireland were bowled out for 214 in its first innings but showed a spirited
performance before Bangladesh bounce back to take the control of the game.

Resuming the Day 2 at 34-2, Bangladesh lost Mominul Haque for 17 in just
third over of the day when pacer Mark Adair bowled him with a delivery that
moved slightly.

But Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim came down heavily on them to establish a full
control.

Shakib started with a cover-driven four against Adair and didn’t look back.

He raised his 31st 50 off just 45 balls, whipping a turning delivery of
legspinner Ben White for four through long on.

Mushfiqur Rahim played with caution in contrast to Shakib’s aggressive
approach but as the time progressed he also unleashed some powerful shots to
start dominating the Irish bowlers.

He swept offspinner Harry Tector for a boundary through backward square leg
to reach his 26th half-century from 69 deliveries.

Shakib looked all set to reach his sixth century but edged McBrine behind
wicket after clobbering 14 fours for his 94 ball-87.

Mushfiqur switched the gear in high mode and completed his 10th Test century
and third in the last eight innings off 135 balls, with an outside edge that
flew through between wicketkeeper and a wide slip.

Alongside him, Liton Das also dominated Irish bowlers in style to keep the
visitors at bay. Ireland’s poor ground fielding and lackluster bowling helped
their cause indeed.

Liton and Mushfiqur got involved in a mix-up. But with Liton stranded halfway
down the pitch, wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker fumbled to give him a retrieve.

However, Lion threw it away one ball later, caught at mid-off for 43, giving
legspinner Ben White his debut wicket.

Bangladesh then lost five wickets for just 38 runs to squander the chance to
bat Ireland completely of the game.

The rot began with Mushfiqur Rahim who paid the price of playing one shot too
many and caught at long-on as he tried to hit a six from a delivery of
McBrine.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz meanwhile picked up his fourth Test half-century amid the
regular wickets tumbling. He was the last batter out after hitting six fours
and two sixes for his 80-ball-knock.

Tucker’s debut ton keeps Ireland alive in Mirpur Test

April 27, 2023

Lorcan Tucker hit a century on debut as Ireland recovered from a shaky start to keep the one-off Test against Bangladesh alive, showing an unwavering resolve on day three at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.

Resuming the day at 27-4 and with a fear of being rolled out in a session against a much-vaunted spin attack of Bangladesh, Ireland put a brave face to give them a faint hope to pull off a miraculous victory.

For a grim stat, Bangladesh have never won their first match against any Test nation.

Tucker’s ton, complemented by Harry Tector and Andy McBrine’s half-century, helped Ireland survive the third day and ended on 286-8 at stumps, leading Bangladesh by 131 runs.

Tucker who made 108 off 162 with 14 fours and one six indeed became the second Irish batter to hit a century on debut after Kevin O’Brien.

He formed two significant partnerships-72 with Harry Tector for the sixth wicket and 111 with Andy McBrine for the seventh wickets to give Ireland a lead.

Bangladesh was bowled out for 369 in its first innings in reply to Ireland’s 214, taking a 155-run lead.

Tector, one of the six debutants of Ireland, followed his 50 in the first innings with 56 and McBrine, who registered a best bowling figure by an Irish bowler in the first innings with 6-118, was batting on 71.

In all, Bangladesh were able to take just four wickets, which was the testament of the temperament of the Irish batters in their only fourth Test.

After resuming the day, Ireland hit back brilliantly thanks to Harry Tector and Peter Moor who added a little but significant 38-run for the fourth wicket. The partnership boosted the Irish confidence to a great extent.

The hosts could have got the wicket of Tector early in the third morning as he edged a slower delivery of left-arm spinner Taijul Islam behind the wicket when on 9 but wicket-keeper Liton Das put it down.

Tector then made Bangladesh paying for it heavily, frustrating them throughout the morning session.

Pacer Shoriful Islam finally broke the partnership, when Moor edged a moving delivery behind the wicket to be out on 16.

But Tucker’s arrival paced the scoreboard as his bold approach to attack the spinners, specially left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, paid off.

Tector raised his second fifty in the Test then off 145 balls, with an outside edge of Khaled Ahmed delivery that flew into the gap between the slips and gully.

But after a little while Taijul had him leg-before after Tector tried to paddle sweep a delivery that didn’t turn much.

Bangladesh got a ray of after the dismissal of Tector but Tucker and McBrine frustrated them further to take the match to the last session when the hosts believed they could wrap up the innings in the first session.

Both Tucker and McBrine showed courageous approach of going after the Bangladeshi spinners fearlessly, which paid off nicely for them.

Tucker however drove Taijul to the mid-wicket for a single to raise his fifty on debut Test off 94 balls and went on to strength to strength, much to the despair of the Bangladeshi bowlers.

McBrine’s assured presence at the other end also boosted him, as he kept punishing Bangladesh bowlers.

He however drove Taijul Islam for a boundary through mid-off region to raise his hundred off just 149 balls.

But Tucker couldn’t prolong the innings as Ebadot Hossain had him caught by Shoriful Islam with the second new ball.

Taijul Islam then removed Mark Adair for 13 to end the day as the best Bangladesh bowler with 4-86. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan, a left-arm spinner who bagged two wickets on day two, bowled only six overs on day three.  McBrine and Graham Hume, who was on 9, saw out the day without further trouble.
